Functional Mental Health
Health & Wellness Center in Boise, ID

Over the years of practice, both Dr. Mary and Katie have noticed that many of their patients and clients suffer from mental health challenges.  While standard options like antidepressants or anxiety medications work for some people, there are many people who do not get effective relief from prescription drugs.  At Integrative Medicine of Idaho we have a different approach that addresses both body and mind in a functional way.  We like to look at the big picture and help you find solutions so that you can feel your best.

Nutrient deficiencies and/or excesses can have a huge impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing.  Dr. Mary is certified in the Walsh Protocol, which is a proven method for helping patients reduce or eliminate mental health challenges through individualized nutrient programs.  These protocols take into account your unique genetic make up and epigenetic expression to address your individual imbalances.

The Walsh Protocol is a process using lab testing and personalized supplement protocols and is particularly well suited to address bi-polar depression/mania.  It has also been shown to be very effective for individuals with entrenched depression, anxiety and OCD.  Each of these conditions is associated with a particular nutrient profile and the Walsh Protocol, along with Dr. Mary’s expertise, is a thorough way to asses and address an individual’s unique nutrient status and it’s correlation to mental health.

Along with the Walsh Protocol, we offer neurofeedback brain wave training here at Integrative Medicine of Idaho with Katie Packwood, NTP.  Neurofeedback is a non-invasive and enjoyable process where brain waves are monitored in real time and integrated into a feedback protocol to produce positive changes in your brain’s bioelectrical activity. The process of adjusting brainwave activity is known as operant conditioning, which is a method where rewards for positive behavior increase learning capabilities.  Neurofeedback is an effective way to teach the brain better self-regulation.

While the Walsh Protocol and Neurofeedback are effective stand alone methods to address mental health challenges, the combination of the two is a power house for positive change.  If you’re ready to really address your life long mental health challenges and feel your best, click here [put in button] or call our office to schedule a complimentary 30 minute consultation to find out if our approach is right for you.
